I am Ian Clarkson a Civil Engineer with over 40 years in the construction industry. About 13 years ago the prolonged stress of working in the industry eventually got the better of me. After months of medication and counselling I decided it was time to reinvent myself - but what?.
I decided that I wanted to be 'an artist who lived by the sea'. Big challenge as I hadn't done any drawing since secondary school and I lived in the Kent countryside.
I enrolled on an art course at the Adult Education Centre in Tunbridge Wells, where with the help of Scott Hazeltine I embarked on this most enjoyable journey of creativity and recovery.
I am pleased to announce that I have now retired and am living an amazing creative life by the sea in North Cornwall.
 
I hope it brings joy to those who view my art work.
